Summer 2012 Job Opportunities:

  • Lifeguards (100): All applicants must have valid Lifeguard certificationand include copies of the certification card with application.
  • Guest Services (15-20)
  • Maintenance
  • Splash Attendent
  • Concession Stand Staff

Lifeguard Training Course

The Primary purpose of a certified Lifeguarding program is to provide entry-level lifeguard participants with the knowledge and skills to prevent, recognize, and respond to emergencies and to provide care for injuries and sudden illnesses until EMS personnel arrive and take over. 
This course is designed to be taught in approximately 31 hours and 15 minutes. 

-Participants must be 15 years of age on or before the last scheduled class. 
-Participants must be able to swim 300 yds continuously using front crawl (freestyle) and breast stroke. 
-They must also be able to swim out and retrieve a 10lb object in 7-10 feet of water. 
- It is required that participants attend every class session.

Once completing the course, participants will receive certifications in American Red cross lifeguarding/ first aid valid for three years and CPR for the professional rescuer/ AED valid for one year. 

Below are the 2012 Lifeguarding Courses being offered. You must attend one entire course. Please make sure you will be available all days before registering. The cost of the class is $150.00. You can register at the REC Department (Honey Bowen Bldg.) on Fair Road, Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:30pm.
